One of my goals for 2011 was to visit as many museums as possible. However, like a true overachiever I threw in a few science centers, art galleries and historic sites for good measure.
- The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (Kansas City, MO)
- Denver Museum of Nature and Science (Denver, CO)
- La Esquina (Kansas City, MO)
- Harry S. Truman Presidential Library & Museum (Independence, MO)
- Mulvane Art Museum (Topeka, KS)
- Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center (Kansas City, MO)
- Ernie Miller Nature Center (Olathe, KS)
- Houston Museum of Natural Science (Houston, TX)
- Children’s Museum of Houston (Houston, TX)
- Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (Houston, TX)
- Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art (Kansas City, MO)
- Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library & Museum (Abilene, KS)
- Smoky Hill Museum (Salina, KS)
- Coronado Heights Park (Lindsborg, KS)
- Höglund Dugout (Lindsborg, KS)
- Museum of Science and Industry (Chicago, IL)
- Milwaukee Public Museum (Milwaukee, WI)
- Milwaukee Art Museum (Milwaukee, WI)
- Saint Louis Art Museum (St. Louis, MO)
- Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (St. Louis, MO)
- Saint Louis Science Center (St. Louis, MO)
- Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (Overland Park, KS)
- Science City at Union Station (Kansas City, MO)
Many of these places I visited more than once this year and many I’d love to visit again. Trips to Colorado (Denver, Trinidad) and Texas (Killeen, Austin) are planned for early 2012 so any museum suggestions are appreciated!
